Lisa Hyde Roach and I collaborated on Thomas H Hyde bc 1851-1920 and most of that genealogy focuses on one particular Hyde family of Mellor, Derbyshire – so much so that we included Thomas’s GGGG Grandfather, John Hyde of Mellor bc 1625-1685 in the title. Click here to read the document.
We’re about a year behind on queries, a few of these can be answered in ten or so minutes, most can take weeks or months. A few can’t be answered at all because documents are not online and/or the information lies behind significant paywalls (think pre-19th century Irish genealogy). In those cases, we do our best to point you toward available resources and how to contact staff at the relevant locations.
Instead of continuing to hold up the entire queue for the bigger projects, I’m starting to answer the less time-consuming questions first, and we’ll work on the bigger projects as we go. The single largest project involves the R-M512s in our DNA Project – descendants of Jesse Hide bc 1757, Ansel Hide, Austin Hyde, Hiram Hide and others. A few upcoming “medium-sized” projects are Joseph and Josephus of NY and Thomas Hyde of Annapolis, MD. I’m also planning to revisit the Vicar of Donyat with new information about this Sherborne, Dorset family.
Wishing you and your loved ones good health and much happiness in the coming year.
